Planning an intercaste wedding reception takes respect for both families, careful logistics and a clear creative vision. When Alfin and Ardhra chose Ammachi Veed in Kottayam, they wanted an evening that felt warm and welcoming to everyone in the room. Here is how Melodia Event Management turned their white and soft pink vision into a lively reception for 150 guests.
Every reception starts with a conversation and ends with a room full of happy guests. For Alfin and Ardhra, it took seven steps to get from a first chat about colours and guest numbers to an evening of soft pink décor and music at Ammachi Veed. Here is how it came together.
Some moments from an evening stay with you long after it ends. For Alfin and Ardhra’s reception, it was the gentle white and soft pink stage, the beat of the water drum, the music from the DJ and the sight of two families celebrating together at Ammachi Veed.
Nisha Continent, where we booked 4 rooms for out-of-town guests, is around an hour from Ammachi Veedu. Instead of treating the stay as a separate booking, we planned the evening’s timing around that journey, so guests could reach the 5:00 PM reception comfortably and without rushing.
“Our families and guests had a wonderful evening, and the team handled everything, from the music to the guest stay. The stage pink was slightly darker than we had chosen, which we felt a little, but overall we were happy.”

Even though two traditions meant two sets of expectations, planning one evening with care for both families showed how an Intercaste reception can feel like home for everyone.
