Ancestral Legacy: Kandath Tharavad is the ancestral residence of the Kandath family, constructed in 1794 by Mr. Kuppavelan, the great‑great‑grandfather of the current proprietor, Bhagwald.

Architecture: A great Ettukettu (eight-block) structure constructed from mud and teak, as per Vaasthu Shastra, with typical architecture consisting of “Purathalum” (elevated front portion with columned pillars made out of teak wood), highly elaborate floors, and sound-separated men’s and women’s meeting places with a central Nadumuttam.
