Manikkal Mana is a serene and beautiful heritage venue located on Farook College Road, opposite Venerini School, Kozhikode. There are two event spaces available here—an outdoor lawn that can accommodate 100 people seated or 150 floating guests, and an indoor hall that can host up to 30 people. Additionally, with four standard bedrooms, one suite room, and parking facilities for 25–30 cars, it is perfectly suited for hosting celebrations that span over multiple days.

When Ishwar and Vaishnavi reached out to us from Mumbai, their vision was crystal clear: they wanted a wedding that felt deeply rooted in authentic, traditional architecture, away from the typical cookie-cutter banquet halls. Executing a multi-cultural, high-energy event for a client base accustomed to Mumbai’s premium standards meant the venue’s specific architectural strengths had to be leveraged to perfection. Here is how we translated their dream into a seamless event experience.

Manikkal Mana isn’t just a space; it’s a heritage narrative. For Ishwar and Vaishnavi’s celebratory Haldi, the property’s standout feature—its gorgeous open lawn juxtaposed against the traditional tiled roofline—became our greatest asset.
Architectural Framing: The sloping clay tiles of the Mana served as a stunning, authentic backdrop. Instead of building massive, invasive structures that hide the venue, our design strategy was to frame it. We aligned the main walkthrough pathways to celebrate the heritage facade, giving the Mumbai guests that immediate “destination immersion” feel.
The Fabric & Floral Canopy: To complement the vibrant energy of a North Indian Haldi within a traditional Kerala setting, we curated a palette of soft pastel pinks, deep oranges, and endless marigold strings. We utilized the lawn’s open air to build fluid, draped arches that mimicked the geometric lines of the Mana’s roof, creating a striking contrast between the rustic wood-and-tile tones and the festive decor.
Space Optimization: With a tight-knit guest list flying in, the venue’s intimate layout allowed us to create distinct “experiential pockets.” We positioned the ceremonial bridal swing (jhoola) against the lush, mature greenery on one side of the lawn, while the main canopy and guest seating occupied the central courtyard space, ensuring a seamless flow of movement without overcrowding the heritage structure.

Logistical Note: Working with a boutique heritage home means respecting the existing landscape. We strictly avoided heavy rigging or nailing into the antique structures. Instead, we used self-supporting, weighted truss frameworks wrapped meticulously in fabric to anchor the overhead drapes.
Melodia Event Management also took full advantage of the property’s natural contours. The transition from the paved walkways to the grassy lawns allowed us to position the guest seating perfectly, giving everyone an unobstructed view of the rituals. The Mumbai crowd was absolutely enchanted—the gentle Kozhikode breeze, the scent of fresh marigolds, and the timeless charm of the Mana provided a sensory experience that no luxury hotel ballroom could ever replicate.
