Located in the heart of Palakkad town, Shadi Mahal is a truly intimate venue with a seating capacity of 150 guests and a maximum floating capacity of 200 guests. From a wedding planner’s perspective, here’s how we utilize every space of this hall:

1. Road Access & Entrance Gate

Road Access:
Since the venue is located facing Palakkad Court Road, it is very easy for guests to drive directly to the gate. The absence of narrow access roads is a major advantage.

Gate Experience:
While the venue may not have a large name board or a luxurious façade, this is where Melody works its magic. From the simple main gate to the hall entrance, the entire pathway can be transformed into a grand welcome zone with beautiful floral arches, LED lighting, and customized wedding signage.

2. Parking Area & Side Spaces

Parking Area:
Upon entering through the gate, there is an open area that can accommodate up to 35 vehicles. Since the venue is located in the town center, some congestion may occur when larger vehicles arrive. However, the side areas around the parking space can be enhanced with elegant drapes and decorative lighting to compensate for the limited space.

Side Corners:
The side areas surrounding the hall are fully concreted. These corners are ideal for setting up a photo booth or welcome desk, which are essential elements of a modern Muslim wedding. This space can be effectively utilized for guests attending the Nikah to take photographs and sign a memory book as they enter.

3. Main Indoor Event Space

Hall Structure:
This is a single ground-floor hall, making it extremely convenient for elderly guests as there are no stairs to climb. Since it is a non-air-conditioned hall, considering Palakkad’s climate, the Melody team would ensure proper air circulation by arranging additional pedestal fans throughout the venue.

The 150-Seat Magic:
When 150 chairs are arranged properly, the hall does not feel empty at all. Instead, it creates a comfortable atmosphere with a pleasant sense of elegance.

Nikah & Stage Corner:
The stage is positioned in the main corner of the hall. Muslim weddings typically require elaborate stage décor and floral arrangements. While a large stage setup may make the hall feel slightly smaller, it is absolutely perfect for an intimate Nikah setting. The area directly in front of the stage can be beautifully utilized for traditional sofa seating arrangements for the groom and family elders, creating a classic “Mappilappattu-style” gathering space.

Power Backup:
Even if there is a power outage during the Nikah ceremony while the lighting and audio systems are in use, there is no need to worry. The venue is equipped with an in-house generator backup system, ensuring that the event continues without interruption.

4. Dining Area

Dining Hall:
The dining facility is conveniently located adjacent to the main hall. One of the highlights of Muslim weddings is the traditional Malabar or Palakkadan Dum Biriyani and other signature dishes. The venue also allows external catering teams to operate on-site.

Food Counter Arrangements:
Since the gathering size is relatively small, serving food becomes much easier. One side of the hall can be allocated for a welcome drinks counter and a dessert counter, creating a smooth dining experience for guests.

5. On-Site Room (The Groom/Bride Suite)

Utilizing the Room:
The single room available at the venue can be transformed into a bridal makeup room. Since it is located close to the stage, it provides easy access for the bride to enter the venue immediately after the Nikah ceremony.
