When one of our clients approached Melodia Event Management Kochi looking for an intimate venue in Kochi, they had a very specific vision. They wanted a place in the heart of the city, yet far removed from its noise. It had to be surrounded by greenery, offer premium facilities, photograph beautifully, and provide guests with a relaxed, memorable experience.

After exploring several options together, they chose The Croft – Cochin.

Located on St. Vincent Road, Kacheripady, beside Metro Pillar 618, The Croft immediately stood out during our venue visit. Despite being in one of Kochi’s busiest neighbourhoods, it feels like a hidden green retreat. The thoughtfully landscaped surroundings, boutique lifestyle spaces, artisanal dining, and contemporary architecture create an ambience that is both peaceful and sophisticated.

First Visit – Discovering What Makes The Croft Special

Our venue recce revealed why The Croft has become one of Kochi’s most distinctive intimate event destinations.

Rather than relying on a single banquet hall, the venue is designed with multiple interconnected spaces, each serving a unique purpose. The highlight is The Conservatory, an elegant air-conditioned glasshouse for the main celebrations, seamlessly connected to The Oval, another fully air-conditioned event space ideal for dining and guest interactions. Beautiful landscaped walkways and outdoor green spaces further enhance the overall experience.

This thoughtful layout allows guests to move comfortably throughout the venue without ever feeling crowded.

Event Day – A Smooth Beginning

One feature we particularly appreciated as event planners was the complimentary 2–3 hours of pre-event access provided by the venue.

This allowed our decorators, lighting technicians, and production crew to complete installations well before guest arrival, without using the air-conditioning during setup. Having this additional preparation time made the execution far more efficient and stress-free.

The venue’s parking capacity for nearly 50 cars, combined with wheelchair-accessible entry, ensured guests arrived comfortably while our valet operations ran smoothly without creating traffic congestion.

The Conservatory – A Celebration Inside a Glasshouse

The heart of The Croft is undoubtedly The Conservatory.

Recognised as one of Kochi’s signature air-conditioned glasshouse event venues, it combines elegant architecture with abundant natural light and beautiful garden views. The venue comfortably accommodates 50–60 guests in theatre-style seating, while intimate celebrations with up to 40 guests can also be hosted exclusively within this space.

For our event, the main ceremony and stage setup were designed inside The Conservatory.

Its transparent glass walls naturally framed the surrounding greenery, allowing us to create an elegant décor using only floral installations, hanging lights, and minimal stage elements instead of oversized backdrops. The venue itself became part of the decoration.

As evening approached, the illuminated glasshouse transformed into one of the most photographed spaces of the celebration, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for both guests and photographers.

The Oval – Seamless Dining and Guest Flow

Connected directly to The Conservatory is The Oval, a spacious air-conditioned event hall designed to complement the main venue.

With seating for approximately 80 guests, it served as the perfect location for buffet counters, round-table dining, and informal conversations while the ceremony continued inside the glasshouse.

Separating the ceremony from the dining area significantly improved guest movement throughout the event. Instead of everyone gathering in one space, guests naturally transitioned between the two venues.

The Oval also features dedicated washroom and handwash facilities, adding another layer of convenience for attendees.

Landscaped Walkways – Where Every Corner Became a Photo Opportunity

One of the most charming aspects of The Croft is its beautifully landscaped pathways connecting the different event spaces.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed leisurely walks through the gardens, families captured photographs, children explored the open spaces, and friends gathered for conversations. Rather than feeling like a conventional indoor function, the event had the relaxed atmosphere of a premium garden celebration.

For our photography and cinematography teams, every corner of the property offered unique compositions. Once the fairy lights illuminated the pathways and the glasshouse after sunset, the venue created cinematic visuals that required very little additional styling.

Thoughtful Space Planning for Intimate Celebrations

What impressed us most about The Croft was the flexibility of its layout.

Whether hosting an intimate gathering of 40 guests in The Conservatory or utilizing The Conservatory, The Oval, and the landscaped garden walkways together, the venue comfortably accommodates a floating crowd of 120–150 guests, with layouts that can be adapted for larger celebrations when required.

Instead of feeling confined to a single hall, guests naturally spread across multiple connected spaces, creating a relaxed and luxurious event experience.
